Whoever supports a doctor helps more than one person
Doctors in Need is a beacon of hope, life, and support for the Palestinians in Gaza.
While photos of a completely devastated Gaza circulate worldwide, it sometimes seems like we forget that there are still people living there. People who are getting married, are pregnant, are having children, are studying, providing care, and offering help. Sometimes they do it all at once, like the young doctors in Gaza.
Doctors in Need provides 31 young medical caregivers with financial support, professional recognition, visibility, safety, and emotional guidance. The dignity, needs, and voice of Palestinians are central to this. The doctors participating in the initiative are equal partners. Together, we break the traditional donor-recipient dynamic.
The symbol of Doctors in Need is the tayara, the Palestinian kite that represents hope, dreams, freedom, and boundlessness. Just as a kite soars above walls, your support contributes to new stories of resilience and life far beyond bombs and blockades.
Why this is so urgently needed
Most of these medical caregivers are in their early twenties and have never received a salary. They are literally on the brink of collapse. With financial support, we not only provide them with professional recognition but also access to food. This allows them to focus on providing care. Thus, we help not only the caregivers and their families but also their patients. Because if the doctors collapse, the last radar of medical aid in Gaza comes to a halt.
The target amount for this initiative is set at 1 million euros. This is a symbolic target amount because there can never be enough money raised for the doctors in need in Gaza to compensate for their work and dedication. The verified doctors receive periodic payments from the donated amount as compensation for the months/years they have worked without receiving a salary.
